The Cyber world and it’s effects (Good and Bad)

This is a hugely developing world and we have very different issues in our life now than we did even 5 years ago. This one day workshop looks at the entire area of the Cyber world and its effects on us, our families, relationships and life.

Evidence shows that the internet has a huge impact on:

1. Our Physical Health. Learn the exact ways in which viewing screens impacts our levels of anxiety and depression. Understand the effects mobile phones impact our brain activity and radiation levels that can effect our health.

2. Our Emotional Health. How we do relationships has massively changed and the world of technology has both assisted and destroyed relationships. Understand how the simple principles of ket relationships has not changed and how to meet those needs.

3. Our Mental Health. With huge increases in levels of anxiety, depression, anger and violence in our lives, understand how screens impact and significantly create panic, avoidance of communication and enable low mood.

4. Our Social Health. We were not born to be alone. We need relationships and they are required face to face rather than just online. Understand clearly how our online presence must be as well as our face to face relationships NOT instead of.

This workshop will leave you with clarity in the following:

How to interact with my teen children with clear boundaries around cyber
How to stop fighting about cyber boundaries
Understanding the effects of cyber in every aspect of our lives and families
Create clear and simple boundaries around cyber in our house
Clearly know the fears of online chat forums and social networks
Understand the law around sexual and porn sites
Create and establish healthy family relationships with cyber included

Course Facilitator: Stuart Wilson. MIACP MEAC MIACC LBCAI. 

Stuart has had many years experience working in this field. He has been engaged working with trauma in young people and family situations, seeing exceptional results using his full family therapy directive approach. If you work with young people this course is a must for your practice. He has been a regular contributor on national radio and TV for his work. Stuart’s work with young people is second to none, including trauma in teens in his home country of Ireland where he works extensively in schools with completion officers and counselling, the probation and prison services, second chance programmes including Solas and VEC youth centres. His has received national and international recognition for hi overseas work which includes working with African former child soldiers and sex slaves, Slum kids and  teen Prostitutes in India and the Eastern European with the teen prison and orphanage system. Stuart and his wife magi were awarded ‘The Pride of Ireland” National Recognition award for their work with young people.  Pride Of Ireland Awards.

Assessment Model: 7 CPD hours are awarded for all participants and each participant will receive a ZestLife Counselling & Training College certificate on completion.
